[Objective](1) Apply the acupoint application therapy to COPD patients in stable phase by different action times to explore the differences of curative effects and skin reactions between groups.(2) Aanlyse the correlation between curative effects and skin reaction to search the best action time of acupoint application therapy.[Method]Ninety COPD patients who search the treaments in Nanjing Hospital of TCM were included into the clinical test. All patients were divided into three groups randomly, namely the group 1 (2 hours intervention time), the group 2 (4 hours intervention time) and the group 3 (6 hours intervention time). All groups received the acupoint application therapy for one month, one times per day and ten times was a course, totally three courses. Before the test and within one month after the end of the test, the indexes of curative effects (pulmonary function、clinical symptom scales、BODE index) and safety(skin reaction、routine tests of blood、urine、fetus and functions of liver and kidney) of three group were measured.[Result]1. Index of Clinical Effects1.1 Pulmonary function ①There were no significant differences between three groups before the intervention on FEV1、FEV1/FVC、FEV1/PR% (P>0.05); There were also no significant differences between three groups by receiving the intervention (P>0.05);②Each group compared before and after the intervention, there were no statistical differences (P>0.05)1.2 Clinical symptom Scale ① There were no significant differences between three groups before the intervention on clinical symptom (P>0.05);There were significant differences between three groups after the intervention (P<0.05), the group 1 compared with the group 2 and group 3,there were significant differences (P<0.05),but there were no differences between group 2 and group 3 (P>0.05);②Each group compared before and after the intervention, there were statistical differences (P<0.05)1.3 BODE Index ① There were no significant differences between three groups before the intervention on BODE Index (P>0.05);There were significant differences between three groups after the intervention (P<0.05), the group 1 compared with the group 2 and group 3,there were significant differences (P<0.05),but there were no differences between group 2 and group 3 (P>0.05);② Each group compared before and after the intervention, there were statistical differences (P<0.05)2. Safety Index2.1 Skin Reaction Scale All patients in three groups were in good skin condition. After the intervention, there were significant differences between three groups (P<0.05) and the group 1 compared with the group 2 and group 3 respectively, there were no significant differences between group 1 and group 2 (P>0.05),but there were differences between group 1 and group 3 (P<0.05),also great differences between group 2 and group 3 (P<0.05)2.2 The routine teses of blood、urine、fetus and function of liver and kidney All test results were within the normal range.3. The correlation between the curative effects and skin reactions3.1 Effects of skin reaction on pulmonary function ①There were no great differences between of the two group on pulmonary function before the intervention (P>0.05); There were also no great differences between of the two group after the intervention (P>0.05);②Each group compared before and after the intervention and there were no statistical differences (P>0.05).3.2 Effects of skin reaction on clinical symptom ①There were no great differences between of the two group on clinical symptoms before the intervention (P>0.05);There were also no great differences between of the two group after the intervention (P>0.05); ②Each group compared before and after the intervention and there were statistical differences (P<0.05).3.3 Effects of skin reaction on BODE index ①There were no great differences between of the two group on BODE index before the intervention (P>0.05);There were also no great differences between of the two group after the intervention (P>0.05);②Each group compared before and after the intervention and there were statistical differences (P<0.05)[Conclusion](1)The different action time of therapy(2、4、6 hours) can’t improve the pulmonary function.(2)Application the therapy for 4 to 6 hours can greatly lower the clinical symptom scales and BODE index scales.(3)Application the therapy for 6 hours will cause the more serious skin reactions than 2、4 hours.(4)Combinatin the curative effects and skin reactions, application the therapy for 4 hour is the best choice.(5)There are relationship between curative effects and skin reactions, the improvement of moderate skin reaction is greater than the mild skin reaction.
