Background and Objective:Liftting the affected limb, which is simple and effective, can reduce the distal limb superficial vein pressure to facilitate venous and lymphatic flow, prevent and eliminate swelling, reduce the osteofascial compartment syndrome, limb necrosis and promote limb functional recovery, and has become a necessary hip replacement surgery. Currently, Brown’s rack or soft pillow, cushion and so on to raise the affected limb are most used in the clinical, which have discounts on the expected effect at different degrees. This research mainly compared with "intelligent adjustable lower limb drive system" and brown rack on liftting the affected limb and joint function recovery of clinical curative effect. Methods:The artificial hip replacement cases treated in March,2013 to August,2014 in Jiangsu Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital orthopedics, according to the inclusion criteria 15 people (7 males,8 females) were selected and randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The control group patients used Brown’s rack to lift the affected limb and did functional exercises, while the treatment group pateints used "intelligent adjustable lower limb elevationdevice" to lift the affected limb and did functional exercises, before,7 and 14 days after treatment, observed the effects of limb swelling after joint replacement surgery with the two devices, and the Harris score, VAS score and postoperative pain were recorded.Results:(1) There was no significant difference between treatment group and control group on ages (P=0.606>0.05). Compared between the two groups before treatment, the swelling score, VAS score and Harris score all had no statistically significant difference (P=0.981,0.78,0.924).(2) 7 days after treatment, swelling scores in treatment group was 3.10±0.80, the control group swelling score was 4.30±1.22, and there was significant difference between the two groups (P=0.040<0.05).14 days after treatment in treatment groups welling scores was 1.26± 0.97, and the control group had the swelling scores 3.44±0.83, with significant difference between groups (P=0.000<0.05).(3) 7 days after treatment VAS score in treatment group was 3.45±0.96, and in the control group was 4.74±1.11, while there was significant difference between two groups (P=0.031<0.05). 14 days after treatment, VAS score in treatment group was 1.25±1.09, and control group was 1.66±1.01, while the difference between the two groups had no statistical significance (P=0.468>0.05).(4) 7 days after treatment in treatment group, the Harris score was 32.01±2.05, and in control group which was 17.27±1.39, with a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P=0.000<0.05).14 days after treatment in treatment group, the Harris score was 54.92±2.70, and in control group which was 28.21±4.311, also with significant difference between the two groups (P=0.000<0.05).Conclusion:In general, using "intelligent adjustable lower limb drive system" and Brown’s rack as treatments after hip replacement to lift the injured limb can both play a role to reduce the swelling and pain and improve the joint function, but with "flexibility", "comfort" and "versatility" concept in a body, the "intelligent adjustable lower limb elevation system" is significantly more effective than Brown’s rack, which can be more flexible to change the limb elevation angle and the hip flexion angle, and can intelligently adjust the limb to the most comfortable position, which is more beneficial to limb swelling. It can also intelligently adjust limb to a functional exercise position in dynamic balance, and is more likely to restore limb function. In a word, it is worth clinical promotion and application.
