Celebral Palcy(CP) refers to a group of movement disorders which is caused by abnormal development or damage in the brain that appear in first months after born. Common signs and symptoms may include delay in primary movement development and poor coordination. Severer cases may be furthermore associated with difficulties in thinking, tremors and problems with sensation, vision and hearing. It is generally accepted that CP is currently the most common movement disorder in children. The increasing occurrence of CP in recent years also signifies the importance of the study of CP. However, currently there is neither medication nor treatment reported that cures CP. This research is focused on the treatment of Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy(HIE) by athletic rehabilitation. It is believed to contribute to the field of CP study both theoretically and practically, since it alleviates the symptoms which would otherwise worsen over time.In this research case studies are presented, and treatments of 5 subjects with HIE using athletic rehabilitation have been monitored and studied. By comparing and analyzing symptoms before and after treatments, it can be shown that alleviation and even elimination of symptoms has been achieved. Therefore, the athletic rehabilitation procedures and analysis of results presented in this research provide a strong enhance to the challenging HIE study. Major findings of this research are listed as follows:1.Athletic rehabilitation is effectively beneficiary to a variety of body functions of HIE patients. Outcomes include improvements in HIE patients’ muscle activity, boost in development of advanced automatic reaction, regulation of reflex and neurohumoral factors. It is observed that functional disorders can be recovered after a certain period of treatment.2.Functional trainings including head raise, turn-over, supine to sitting conversion, crawl, knee standing, sitting to standing conversion, standing and walking are proved to be effective treatments against HIE.3.As different corporeities of HIE boys and different degree of cooperation with doctors, excercise rehabilitation has a different effect on degree of recovery. An d also dueto the physical difference, the current situation cannot-be changed in a very short time. Thus the degree-of cooperation determines the significance of c linical treatment.
