Objective:To explore the causes and risk factors of nosocomial infections in type2diabetes mellitus patients and to put forward the prevention countermeasures so as to reduce the incidence of nosocomial infections in type2diabetes mellitus patients. Methods:The risk factors for the nosocomial infections in totally1074cases of type2diabetes mellitus patients who were treated in the117th hospital of PLA from Jan2011to Dec2012were retrospectively analyzed, then the patients were divided into the infection group with54cases and the non-infection group with1020cases according to whether combined with the nosocomial infections or not. The gender, age, course of disease, hospital stay, blood glucose level, invasive operation, complication of diabetes and combined with other diseases were analyzed by the univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis so as to put forward the prevention countermeasures. All statistical description and analysis was conducted by SPSS19.0. Results:Of totally1074type2diabetes mellitus patients investigated, the nosocomial infections occurred in54cases with the infection rate of5.03%; the respiratory tract (50%) ranked the first place of the infection sites, followed by the urinary tract (25.93%), oral cavity (11.11%) and skin soft tissue (11.11%). The univariate analysis showed that the risk factors for the nosocomial infections included the age, course of disease, hospital stay, blood glucose level, invasive operation and complication of diabetes, etc. The multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that course of disease (OR=1.933), hospital stay (OR=2.570), invasive operation (OR=3.194) and blood glucose level (OR=3.416) were the independent risk factors for the nosocomial infections in the type2diabetes mellitus patients. Conclusions:The nosocomial infection occurred in the type2diabetes mellitus patients easily. It is an effective way to prevent the nosocomial infections and improve the life quality in the type2diabetes mellitus patients by shortening the hospital stay, controlling the blood glucose level and rigidly implementing the aseptic technical operation procedures.
