Objective:To develop a fiber-optic, lacrimal endoscope that is low in cost, easy in operation and high in image quality, and put it into preliminary application. The objective is to improve the shortcomings of the current lacrimal duct endoscope, including expensive, inconvenient for carrying, storage, disinfection and cleaning.Methods:Connect a specially manufactured optical fiber with an eyepiece of focal length5mm to assemble into a portable lacrimal endoscope; through a conversion interface, connect the endoscope with a CMOS so as to output its image to a LCD screen. Apply the assembled endoscope system to observing the lacrimal passage of a New Zealand white rabbit.Results:When tested in vitro, the lacrimal endoscope can be clearly observed at a close range. In animal experiments, the lacrimal puncture is easy to be located with access to lacrimal duct. The ocular surface structure can be clearly observed with lacrimal duct endoscope, while image definition after entering the lacrimal duct needs further study and adjusting.
