Context:In recent years, with the dietary habit of raising, theeconomic development and population structure change, there isa daily-growing incidence of the prostate disease. In Europeand the United States, the prostate cancer has become themost common non epithelial tumor,of which the mortality was inthe second place in the cause of death due to cancer. Theincidence of prostate cancer in our country has increased yearby year.Since2008, prostate cancer has become thehighest incidence rate of malignant tumor of urinary systemaccording to the statistics of the National CancerCenter shows. In the treatment of prostate cancerbefore, because their tumors had a concealed position, the earlyclinical symptoms were not typical, and we lacked of highspecificity diagnosis means,so most of the patients had lostthe opportunity for radical operation of prostate when theywent to the hospital. With the development of studies on thepathogenesis of the prostate cancer, endocrine therapy has become one of the main means of therapy in the treatment ofadvanced prostate cancer at present. In our study, throughanalysising of therapeutic effect of endocrine combinationwith transurethral resection of prostate for the treatment ofprostate cancer,we confirm that it is a safe and effectivetherapy. Objective:This study focused on the analysis of curative effect andquality of life after patients with prostate cancer(especiallycombined with bladder outlet obstruction)had TURP combinedwith intermittent endocrine therapy. Methods:Through the retrospective analysis of85patients in ourhospital from September2009to December2014,all of themhave received endocrine treatment, aged65-87years old, theaverage age is76.We provided the patient family with currenttreatment modalities, patients were randomly divided into threegroups according to their willingness.33cases of group Areceived continued endocrine therapy,28cases of group Breceived intermittent endocrine therapy,24patients of groupC underwent transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)combined with intermittent endocrine therapy. We observe serum prostate specific antigen(PSA),residual urine volume(RU),maximal urinary flow rate (Qmax),international prostatesymptom score (IPSS),endocrine treatment toxicity, quality oflife score(QOL),the survival rate of2years and the rate ofdeveloping into androgen independent prostate cancer in5years of patients before their trentment, after their trentmentand6months after operation respecttively. At the same time, wealso analyze the factors that affect the time of intermittentendocrine therapy. Results:The PSA, residual urine volume(RU), maximal urinary flowrate(Qmax), quality of life score IPSS, International ProstateSymptom Score(QOL) detected6months after operation of GroupC, there was statistical significance between them with theabove data detected before operation and after operation(P<0.05).The group C which received TURP combinedwith intermittent endocrine therapy compared with group B andgroup A,the time of treatment, the survival rate, the ratio ofprogress to androgen independentstage and the incidence ofadverse reaction, there were statistical significance(P<0.05). Conclusion:TURP combined with intermittent endocrine therapy comparedwith endocrine therapy alone in the treatment of prostatecancer,it can delay the progress of tumor, increase the survivalrate of patients, and has the advantage in improving the qualityof life of patients,it is a safe and effective treatment forprostate cancer.
