Measles is an acute respiratory infectious disease caused by measles virus, withstrong infectivity. Infection is more common in infants and children, with fever, systemic or local skin rash and respiratory symptoms as the main clinical symptoms, also can lead to bacterial infections, for example secondary bronchitis pneumonia, myocarditis, middle ear inflammation, inclusion body encephalitis, especiallybacterial pneumonia, is the main cause of death in children with measles. Thediagnosis of measles still exists some problems in clinical: on the one hand, theprodromal symptoms of measles are nonspecific, the clinical manifestation is similarto the infection of the upper respiratory tract symptoms, fever and rash may becaused by other virus. On the other hand, because of wide application of liveattenuated vaccine and inactivated vaccine, some patients do not have typical skinrash and mucous plaque after infect measles virus, or even there is no rash in theentire course of the disease or just the performance of high fever, headache, musclepain and other symptoms of flu. Therefore, in order to avoid misdiagnosis of measles, laboratory diagnose of measles is vital important.Human enterovirus (HEV) is the pathogen of proliferating in intestinal, butcausing various infection diseases extraenteral. Latent infection is more common. The clinical manifestations of viral infection are complex as a result of varietyenterovirus type, the disease may cause a variety of clinical symptoms, such as fever, rash, myocarditis, aseptic meningitis, encephalitis, acute flaccid paralysis and so on.Different type of enterovirus may cause the same clinical syndrome, and the samevirus can also cause different clinical diseases, it brings difficulty for clinical diagnosis. In recent years, with the wide application of molecular biologytechnology such as RT-PCR and real-time PCR, not only improve the detection levelof HEV, also has made great progress in typing diagnosis of enterovirus. Theresearch of enterovirus are concerned in children with hand foot and mouth disease, respiratory tract infections, diarrhea diseases and infections of the central nervoussystem, more attention are paid in monitoring and investigation of enterovirusinfection in healthy people. We collected76swabs of rash and fever cases in a period of high incidence ofmeasles for laboratory isolation and identification from2013to2014.20samples ofmeasles were identified, but at the same time we found that some samples alsoinfected with enterovirus when cultured in cell,57cases of enterovirus were detectedfrom76samples, the isolation rate of enterovirus is75%, including5cases ofcoxsackie B3virus, and2cases of poliovirus, EV71and CVA16were not detectedusing specific primers. In conclusion, measles and enterovirus were isolated andidentified in this experiment, both of them can cause fever and rash illness, itprovides a necessary basis for the study of co-infection between measles andenterovirus, guides the diagnosis and treatment for measles and also provides datavalue of the infection status of enterovirus in human.
