A Study On Workers’ Occupation Health Management Of DC Group

Ship manufacturing industry is one of the important major equipment manufacturing industry in China. As one city of old industrial bases in the northeast, Dalian City holds more than10shipbuilding enterprises of all kinds, and its subordinate companies have reached more than500, among which there are both top ten enterprises of world shipbuilding, and the private minor shipbuilding enterprises, which mainly spread in and near the coastline of Dalian City. The basic technology of shipbuilding includes steel pretreatment, material blanking processing, segmented manufacturing, pre-outfitting, closure, outfitting, shipway erection, and so on, which has the basic characteristics of major equipment manufacturing industry. There exists various harm factors of occupation disease, such as noise, high temperature, vibration, arc welding, welding fumes, manganese and its inorganic compounds and benzene during its production process. Especially, through the analysis of occupation health of the direct labors who are directly exposed to welding dust, dust, noise, benzene, ultraviolet and other hazardous substances in the process of material-cutting, welding, polishing, painting, and oiling.This paper is based on health examination reports of DC Group, ltd. during2008-2012, to the laws and regulations promulgated by Ministry of health and National Security Supervision Bureau as a standard, based on a lot of basic information and data released and provided by domestic and foreign relevant publications and magazines, through the combination of quantitative research and qualitative research, conducting in-depth and detailed analysis of occupation health of DC Group. It reveals potential threats to the workers’occupation health of ship manufacturing industry. As the research shows:the incidence of occupational diseases and occupational contraindications of DC Group is basically under control and in a declining trend, however, the existing problems of occupational health management shall not be ignored. Firstly, the front line workers are high on turnover rate, low on quality, and thin on personal health consciousness; Secondly, the occupation diseases’preventing and control system of DC Group, still awaits perfection; Lastly, the environment of factories and workshops are bad, and the equipment is outdated, which indirectly caused occupation disease problems. Aiming at these problems, considering laws and regulations of DC Group, the paper put forward four proposals: first to establish occupational health care system; followed by improving working environment and work conditions; Thirdly, to give workers periodic physical examination; Lastly, to strengthen the health education of workers. Moreover, four safeguard measures are also proposed:to establish a people-oriented corporate culture, to strengthen the leadership of workers’health, to set up professional health-care staff, to improve the performance appraisal system of the managers.The present study takes DC Group, as the research object, by conducting analysis of DC Group workers’current occupation health situation, points out the problems and the roots, uses relevant theories to analyze the workers’occupation health and put forward specific measures. It possesses practical value in maintaining the stability of DC Group’s human resources, real-time monitoring employees’occupational health level, developing disease prevention and control system of DC Group and even the whole ship manufacturing industry, as well as promoting the development of the shipbuilding industry in our country.
