Objective: To improve early diagnosis and treatment for patients with appendiceal mucinous adenocarcinoma.Method:To analyze retrospectively10cases with appendiceal mucinous adenocarcinoma who were admitted to the first affiliated hospital of Zhejiang University from Jan.2009to Mar.2014.Results:Ten patients with appendiceal mucinous adenocarcinoma underwent surgical resection, of whom,7patients were treated with chemotherapy after surgery. Up to now, three patients died and seven patients are still alive.Conclusion:It is very difficult to make an early diagnosis of appendiceal mucinous adenocarcinoma in clinical. Pre-operative medical imaging and intra-operative fast pathological examination can increase the detection rate for this cancer. Radical right colon resection and post-operative chemotherapy are the first and effective choice for advanced appendiceal mucinous adenocarcinoma. |
