ObjectiveTo evaluate the associations of cigarette smoking and tea drinking with hepatocellular carcinoma, and to provide scientific basis for the liver cancer prevention and treatment.MethodsElectronic search strategy was carried out among the databases from home and abroad to collect qualified research papers according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. CNKI, VIP Chinese Periodical Database, Chinese BioMedical Literature Database, Wanfang Chinese Periodical Database, Pubmed(Medline), EMBASE, Web of Knowledge and Cochrance Library were searched for the case-control studies and cohort studies of cigarette smoking and tea drinking associated with hepatocellular carcinoma. The sub-group analysis was performed based on the different smoking frequency, different smoking status and tea drinking frequency. Stata12.0software was applied for investigating the heterogeneity, the effect of the combination value, sensitivity analysis and bias estimation among studies. Meta-analysis was used to estimate the combined OR and95%CI.ResultsA total of29case-control studies and7cohort studies were included to analyze the correlation between smoking and hepatocellular carcinoma. The combined OR and RR in case-control studies and cohort studies were1.58(95%CI=1.47-1.70) and1.49(95%CI=1.38-1.60), which both indicated significant correlation between smoking and hepatocellular carcinoma. The further analysis was made in Asia, North America and Europe group, the combined ORs were1.54(95%CI=1.45-1.62),1.71(95%CI=1.37-2.15) and1.42(95%CI=1.21-1.68). The combined ORs for the individual exposed to...
