A Study Of The Association About TGF-β1and MCP-1in Age-related Macular Degeneration

Objective: To observed the change of serum inflammatory-associated cytokines concentrations inthe patients with wet age-related macular degeneration.Methods: Retrospective analysis was made to the serum inflammatory cytokines of the55patient-s with wet AMD from December2012to August2013in NO.474Hospital of Ophthalmic Centerof Chinese PLA of the Urumchi of China. The serum of33patients with senile cataract were selec-ted as the control group. Serous concentrations of TGF-β1, IL-6, MCP-1were examined by enzy-me-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Result: The levels of TGF-β1, IL-6in wet AMD group were significantly higher than that in con-trol group (Z=-3.228, P=0.001; Z=-2.034, P=0.042). The level of MCP-1was not significantlydifferent between the two groups (Z=-1.832, P=0.067)Conclusion: The serum inflammatory-associated cytokines TGF-β1, IL-6may be the biomarkerto monitor the progression of wet AMD.
