Laryngeal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumor ofOtolaryngology Head and Neck surgery, the main treatment is operation. Oralfeeding is abnormal in patients with laryngeal carcinoma for two weeks aftersurgey. The operation may cause a series of questions, such as bloodloss, pain, fever, insomnia, severe cough, which increase a greater consumption ofthe body. Malnutrition is very common after surgey, which easily lead to manycomplications,as infection, pulmonary dysfunction, poor wound healing. Timelyand reasonable nutrition support can reduce the incidence of postoperativecomplications directly or indirectly, improve the postoperative quality of life. Theclinical nutritional support including enteral nutrition and parenteralnutrition. Laryngectomy can damage normal physiological structure ofhypopharynx and affect swallowing function. The gastrointestinal function is ingood condition among majority of patients with laryngeal carcinoma,so the enteralnutrition is the best way of nutritional support for postoperative patients withlaryngeal cancer. Nasal feeding is the most suitable enteral nutrition support methodfor patients.According to the characteristics of laryngeal carcinoma patients, indwelling gastric tube is needed14days or so. It is the main nutritional support toinject various nutrition preparation with Gastric tube for thepostoperativelaryngocarcinoma patients. In recent years, the development of nutrison, fresubin, homogenized diet is growing rapidly. Objectives:This study employ two enteral nutrition supports, including nutrison andfresubin. The object is to compare nutritional improvement in postoperative larynx cancer patients and provide a theoretical basis for the selection of enteral nutritionsupports. At the same time, according to the willingness and economicfactors, support the more sutiable enteral nutrition supports, which is benefit for therecovery and improvement of life. Methods:The nasogastric tube insertion are applied in100cases with laryngealcarcinoma pre-operation respectively.100patients were randomly divided into twogroups post-operation:50caseswere given fresubin combined with nutrison fibre(intervention-1), and50patients were given homogenized diet products(intervention-2). The physical measurements, biochemical criterion, assessment ofnutrient deficiency symptom were performed pre-operation,7days afteroperation,14days after operation respectively. Related index were statisticallyanalyzed.Results:(1) Compare the differences of generally conditions and clinical indicators ofthe patients between two groups before intervention, the results showed that therewere no significant differences of the age, gender, weight, height, pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure, total serum protein, hemoglobin, totalcholesterol, fasting plasma glucose and serum creatinine between two groups(p>0.05).(2) The level of serumtotal protein, albumin, triglyceride, totalcholesterol, hemoglobin and urea nitrogen in intervention-1group patients is significantlyhigher than that of intervention-2group on the7th postoperative day(p<0.05);the abnormal rate of serum total protein, albumin, hemoglobin, total cholesterol inintervention-1group patients is significantly lower than that of intervention-2group on the7th postoperative day(p<0.05);There was no significant differences ofthe incidence of deficiency disease between two groups(p>0.05).(3) The level of serum total protein, albumin, hemoglobin, triglyceride, andfasting plasma glucose in intervention-1group patients is significantly higher than that of intervention-2group on the14th postoperative day (p<0.05); theabnormal rate of serum total protein, albumin, hemoglobin, total cholesterol andBMI have in intervention-1group patients is significantly lower than that ofintervention-2group on the14th postoperative day (p<0.05) There was significantdifferences of the incidence of nutrient deficiency symptom between two groups(p<0.05).(4) There were no significant differences on the level serumtotal protein, albumin, triglyceride, totalcholesterol, hemoglobin and urea nitrogen amongpreoperative,7th postoperative day and14th postoperative day in intervention-1group(p>0.05).There were significant differences on the level of serum totalprotein, albumin, triglyceride, totalcholesterol, hemoglobin and urea nitrogenamong preoperative,7th postoperative day and14th postoperative day inintervention-2group(p<0.05).(5) There were no significant differences on the the abnormal rate of serumalbumin, urea nitrogen, total cholesterol and BMI among preoperative,7thpostoperative day and14th postoperative day in intervention-1group(p>0.05). Theabnormal rates of serum total protein, serum albumin, hemoglobin, total cholesteroland BMI have significantly differents among preoperative,7th postoperative day and14th postoperative day in intervention-2group(P<0.05).(6)There were no significant differences of deficiency disease amongpreoperative,7th postoperative day and14th postoperative day in intervention-1group(p>0.05). Comparison with preoperative,The incidence of deficiency diseasehas been significantly different among preoperative,7th postoperative day and14thpostoperative day in intervention-2group(p<0.05).Conclusions:(1) Comparison with tube feeding homogenized diet, fresubin combined withnutrison fibre can improve nutritional status and help keep the immunity ofpost-operative larynx cancer patient.(2) Comparison with tube feeding homogenized diet, fresubin combined with nutrison fibre can keep the level of total serum protein, hemoglobin, total cholesterol, fasting plasma glucose and serum creatinine in the normal range or slight decrease, nutrison fibre combined with fresubin is beneficial to the recovery of the patient’scondition.(3) fresubin combined with nutrison fibre has a better clinical curative effect, totube feeding homogenized diet.
