The Analysis Of The Modern Theory Of Andrology Of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Objective:This paper offers a review and research on the modern theory of Andrology of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) over the past30years with a view to gaining a mastery of the research hotspot of the Andrology of TCM, sum up the rules and enriching its connotation so as to provide new method and research thoughts for the Andrology of TCM and advancing its better development. Method:The documentary method is applied to collect the literature pertaining to the Andrology of TCM over the past30years with the literature search scope including Andrology of TCM project of national level, the theoretical thoughts of the experts in Andrology of TCM from the first to the fifth batch of national-level distinguished veteran doctors of TCM and the award program of Andrology of TCM project of national level. The obtained literatures are classified according to the time sequence, literature category, the name of the experts and the name of the diseases; the name of the diseases is made the major criterion for classification. Meanwhile, the method of deduction and induction is adopted and scientific principle followed to extract the academic viewpoints of the scholars.Results:The research into the modern theory of Andrology of TCM mainly focuses on male infertility, prostatitis, BPH and ED with the research content concentrating on etiology and pathogenesis, classification,etiology and pathogenesis, prescription therapeutic mechanism and featured prescriptionwhile seldom touches upon other male diseases and comprehensive theory of Andrology. Conclusions:Recent30years have seen the comprehensive development of the theory of Andrology of TCM; however,some issues are also found existent, such as etiology, pathogenesis and treatment guidelines that are summarized from the clinical experience and theoretical knowledge of various doctors; meanwhile, it is also plagued by the non-uniform criterion of diagnosis, classification and therapeutic effect and well as backward experimental fundamental research. Therefore, the author holds the idea that in the future development of the theory of Andrology of TCM, it is of prime importance to combine the modern science and technology, conduct exploratory research by experimental means under the prerequisite of maintaining the features of TCM and enhance the scientific nature and repeatability; to set up uniform criterion of diagnosis, classification and therapeutic effect and boost the standardization and scientization of the research on TCM; to expand the scope of experimental fundamental research, proactively conduct the study on drug matching, dosage form and therapeutic method and give full play to the advantages of treatment by Chinese herbs; to strengthen the research on other male diseases and comprehensive theory while studying male infertility, prostatitis, BPH and ED so as to pursue balanced development.
