Objective:To evaluate the therapeutic effects and outcomes of hysteroscopic and laparoscopic myomectomy of type II submucous myomas. Methods:Retrospectively investigate and analyze the clinical and post-operation data of80patients with type II submucous myomas of uterus form January2008to January2012of Women’s Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University. Results:All of the patients whom were followed-up had improvement of clinical symptoms after operations. The average age of hysteroscopic group was38.55±6.69years old. According to the diameter of myomas (30-39mm,40-49mm and50-60mm), there were17,16and7patients respectively. The average age of laparoscopic group was39.85±5.10years old. There were14,16and10patients respectively in each team of different diameters. In hysteroscopic group, there were significant differences between the50-60mm team and the other two teams in operation time and bleeding amount (p<0.05, p<0.01). In laparoscopic group, there were no significant differences in three teams. Meanwhile, there were significant differences between the two groups in operation time and lengths of post-operation hospital stay (p<0.05, p<0.01).Conclusions:Hysteroscopic myomectomy of type II submucous myomas is minimally invasive and well tolerated, it is still the first choice for treatment. However, when the diameters of type II submucous myomas are more than5cm, the risks of hysteroscopic myomectomy are increased. At this time, laparoscopic myomectomy should be considered.
