Objectives:To compare the shear bond strength and the adhesive remnant index of six different orthodontic brackets bondings in vitro.Materials and Methods:Sixty healthy premolars were randomly divided into6groups (A, B, C, D, E, F) with10teeth in each group.Then the teeth in each group were treated with the six different orthodontic brackets bondings (A:3M Unitek Transbond XT; B:XIHUBIOM NO-MIX Orthodontic Direct Bonding System; C:XIHUBIOM NO-MIX Light Cure Orthodontic Bonding System; D:GC Fuji ORTHO LC; E:Prime-Dent Light Cure Orthodontic Adhesive Bonding System; F:Medicept Light Cure Orthodontic Adhesive Bonding System). After24hours of37℃artificial saliva bath, the shear strength were tested.The records analyzed using SPSS17.0software package. The adhesive remain index (ARI) was recorded under a magnifying glass (10X), and used Kruskall-wallis H test the results. Result:One-way ANOVA analysis showed a significant difference (P<0.05) in the bond strength between the six groups. There were significant differences between A and D, F (P<0.05). The bond strength of D, F group was significantly less than A group.There was no significant difference among group A, B, C, E (P>0.05). The difference of ARI in each group was not significant (P>0.05).Conclusion:Although there are significant differences on the shear bond strength of the six orthodontic adhesive bonding, but all of them can meet the needs of orthodontic treatment. XIHUBIOM NO-MIX Orthodontic Direct Bonding System produce high shear bond strength.
