Objective: To explore the diagnosis and treatment of pleuraleffusion and ascites caused by micro-channel percutaneous nephrolithotomy intreatment of renal calculi. Methods: From2008April to2013April,320casesof renal calculi underwent micro-channel percutaneous nephrolithotomy, patientdata of10cases complicated by pleural effusion and ascites wereretrospectively analyzed. Results: The group included8male,2female,the ageranged from31to59years old, average age39.5years,left renal caculi in7cases,3cases of right renal caculi, stone size1.0cm×2.0cm×2.5cm~1.8cm×2.5cm×4.0cm, cast stone, with mild hydronephrosis in cases. They werepunctured by B ultrasound localization through the eleventh intercostal or12rib. In the operation6cases of mild pleural effusion were found.Severe pleuraleffusion and ascites occurred in2cases. After the operation2cases of mildpleural effusion and ascites were found. They were cured by chest andabdominal cavity drained and conservative treatment. The incidence rate thatpleural effusion and ascites caused by micro-channel percutaneousnephrolithotomy in treatment of renal calculi was3.2%(10/320).9patients werefollowed without exception in three months,1case of renal function did notimprove. Conclusion: Micro-channel percutaneous nephrolithotomy intreatment of renal calculi can be complicated by pleural effusion and ascites,Bultrasound examination during the operation can make a definite diagnosis. Severe pleural effusion and ascites drainage shall be immediately, mild pleuraleffusion and ascites can be self absorbed. Intraoperative carefulobservation, reducing the pressure of the perfusion fluid and pleural andperitoneal injury is the key to prevent pleural effusion and ascites.
