The mental patients are special vulnerable people,to whom the rehabilitation treatments are different from the treatment to patients with common diseases. In addition to give them the medical treatment, servants also need to combined with the treatment of psychological and social therapy. From the perspective of medical, the treatment of the mental patients are generally divided into three stages:acute phase, stable phase, recovery phase. Mental patients’condition in recovery phase has been effectively controlled, and their insight and willpower have been recovered, which creates a great hope of been released from hospital for mental patients. However, the psychological status of the patients at this stage are extremely complex. Their negative emotions, such as self-abasement, depression, anxiety, shame and hopelessness often break out. What’s more, their social functioning are significantly degraded, which causes some non-adaptive behaviors, like communication disorders and social deficit.Because of the psychological and behavioral disorders, the patients can’t return to society. And if someone returns, he or she would also came back to hospital because of lacking of ability to adapt. Therefore, it is very important for the patients’in recovery phase to give the treatment of psychological and social therapy.According to the cognitive behavioral theory, people’s emotions and behaviors and cognition are interrelated and interacted. The theory is that the wrong cognition leads to non-adaptive behaviors and in return the adaptive behaviors can learn from the cognition. So, to modify the patients’negative emotions and non-adaptive behaviors,we need to intervene from the cognitive perspective. Based on this background, I have designed a group plan from the cognitive-behavioral orientation, which make the group work methods applied to the rehabilitation process of mental patients in recovery phase. The group plan takes the patients in recovery phase for the study, who have been live in the Y hospital in Wuhan. According to assess the needs of the patients through the methods of survey and interviews, I find the patients primarily have the following five questions:mood disorders, lacking of self-confidence, social difficulties, bad medication compliance and hospital dependency. To solve these problems, I design a six-section group plan, and they are:we are together, my features and advantages, my emotions and health, my interpersonal relation, my condition and future, the gains and farewell. I want this kind of group to reshape the patient’s cognitive model, through which the patients’ self-knowledge, self-confidence and self-identity can be enhanced. At the same time, making more chance for the patients’ reinforcement learning and ability training in the process of cognitive therapy, is help to self-management and improve skills. Eventually, the patients’ cognize perceive alters the patients’ behavioral.
