Objective: To analyze the clinical and pathological features of mycosis fungoides in order to improve the diagnosis and treatment. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical and pathological information of 115 MF patients in Shandong Provincial Institute of Dermatology and Venereology from 1987 to 2014 in June,to determine the ages at diagnosis, clinicopathologic characteristics of skin lesions misdiagnosis and treatment. Results: The mean age of onset was(39.03 ± 18.10) years. The mean age of diagnosis was(43.99 ± 16.83)years. The mean interval, from onset to diagnosis, was average 4.92 years.Clinical and pathological manifestations included generalized lesions(93.04%), epidermotropism(87.83%) and neoplastic T-lymphocytes(78.26%). 38.26% cases had been misdiagnosed. It was effective that early intervention for MF.Conclusion: 1、The average age of the patients was 39.03 years old. The incidence ratio of under-20 s and over-50 s was 14.78% and 38.26%, respectively. The ratio of male to female was 1.95:1. 2、Early MF accounted for 71.30% of the study, and the clinical misdiagnosis rate was 38.26%. The main factors affecting diagnosis of the early MF is polymorphic skin lesions and atypical features of pathology. 3、The subtypes and variant of MF accounted for 22.6%. The clinical and pathological manifestations of these special types also interfered with the diagnosis of MF. In order to diagnose MF, we need to combine the clinical and pathological features closely with immunohistochemistry and TCR gene rearrangement. 4、Thirty-one cases were diagnosed by multiple or repeated biopsies. Therefore, it is important to do multiple or repeated biopsies when we can not diagnose early MF. 5、MF of children or adolescents(<18 years of age) accounted for 12.17%. Hence particular attention should be paid to the crowd, because biopsy rate of the crowd is low. And we should establish and improve the mechanism for the treatment and follow-up. 6、Do intervention or conservative treatment to early MF patients could alleviate the illness, which can prevent or delay the progression of the disease. However, the effect and prognosis were poor in tumor stage. Consequently, it is important to do early diagnosis and treatment.
