Objective: To explore the application value of the thickness of the renal cortex and parenchyma in the evaluation of kidney function of congenital hydronephrosis.Methods: Collected 77 cases of unilateral hydronephrosis carrying the renal ultrasound in April 2012 to June to 2014, in which, 55 male cases, 22 female cases. 77 cases were divided into infants,young children group,preschool and school-age group according to the age.Ultrasound examination was performed within 3d on the renal dynamic imaging(SPECT) to exanimate and measure GFR, based on the measured value, 77 kidneys were divided into normal group(GFR> 34ml/min), mildly impaired renal function group(GFR 20 ~ 34ml/min), severe renal impairment group(GFR <20ml/min), the renal cortical thickness of the cases of the three groups and the thickness of renal parenchyma, were measured respectively; single factor variance was used to compare each group of renal cortical thickness and the thickness of renal parenchyma, and the linear regression was used to analyze the relationship between the thickness of the renal cortex, the thickness of renal parenchyma and ipsilateral renal GFR values.Results: infrans:normal renal function group of cortical thickness and the thickness of renal parenchyma, respectively,(0.39-0.07) cm,(0.55-0.13) cm;slightly damaged group(0.27 + 0.27) cm, respectively(0.35 + 0.02) cm, severely damaged group respectively(0.21 + 0.02) cm,(0.29-0.01) cm; young children group:normal renal function group of cortical thickness and the thickness of renal parenchyma respectively,(0.53-0.04) cm,(0.74-0.05) cm, slightly damaged group(0.40 + 0.40) cm, respectively(0.58 + 0.05) cm, severely damaged group respectively(0.22 + 0.03) cm,(0.45-0.04) cm; Preschool group:normal renal function group of cortical thickness and the thickness of renal parenchyma, respectively,(0.45-0.07) cm,(0.94-0.05) cm, slightly damaged group(0.47 + 0.47) cm, respectively(0.66 + 0.05) cm, severely damaged group(0.32 + 0.32) cm, respectively(0.41 + 0.03) cm;School age group:normal renal function group of cortical thickness and the thickness of renal parenchyma, respectively,(0.56-0.05) cm,(1.02-0.06) cm, slightly damaged group(0.50 + 0.50) cm, respectively(0.70 + 0.01) cm, severely damaged group(0.28 + 0.28) cm, respectively(0.40 + 0.01) cm. Thickness of renal cortical and parenchyma of each age group differences were statistically significant,Renal cortical thickness、renal parenchyma thickness and GFR has significant correlation. Four age groups are grouping of cortical and parenchyma thickness in judging normal renal function, mild kidney function decline, the standard of severe renal function impairment, This method of dividing group method and GFR coincidence rate was very high.Conclusion: The thickness of renal cortex and the thickness of renal parenchyma measured by ultrasound, to a certain extent, can reflect the single kidney function, which can be used as a useful parameter for clinical evaluation of the single kidney function of the hydronephrosis in children.
