Objective: To analyze the risk factors of the occurrence of non valvular atrial fibrillation in smoking patients. To research the correlation of the risk factors with the occurrence and types of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. Methods: Smoking patients were selected from the Department of Cardiology in The First Affiliated Hospital of University of South China from July 2014 to December 2014. According to the electrocardiogram results and previous history, these patients were divided into paroxysmal AF group and persistent AF group. There were 24 cases in paroxysmal AF group, including 14 males and 10 females; There were 26 cases in persistent AF group, including 15 males and 11 females. 25 hospitalized smoking patients in the same period were selected into control group, including 13 males and 12 females. These patients electrocardiogram testing results and previous medical history showed no atrial fibrillation. To collect the patients’ general data, detect the blood glucose, blood lipids, hepatic and renal function, thyroid function and carbon oxygen hemoglobin levels, have cardiac color ultrasound test and analyze the difference among each indicator in persistent AF group, paroxysmal AF group, and control group. Results: 1. The differences of gender, the proportion of patients with hypertension and diabetes had no statistical significant among persistent AF group, paroxysmal AF group and control group. Compared with the control group, the age was significantly increased. Compared with paroxysmal AF group, the age in persistent AF group was significantly increased. The differences had statistical significance.2. The TC and TG levels showed decreasing tendency from the control group, paroxysmal AF group to persistent AF group. Compared with the control group, the TC and TG levels were significantly decreased in persistent AF group. But there was no difference between the control group and the persistent AF group. There was no difference between the paroxysmal group and the persistent AF group. The LDL-C level showed a decreasing tendency from the control group, paroxysmal AF group to the persistent AF group. The differences among the three groups had statistical significance. The differences of HDL-C level and blood sugar level had no statistical significance among the three group.3. The difference of carbon oxygen hemoglobin concentration had no statistical significance among the control group, paroxysmal AF group and persistent AF group.4. The LAD showed increasing tendency from the control group, paroxysmal AF group to persistent AF group. The differences of LAD level had statistical significance among the three group. The LVEF showed decreasing tendency from the control group, paroxysmal AF group to persistent AF group. The differences of LVEF level had statistical significance among the three group. Conclusions: 1. Increased of age and LAD,decreased of TC, TG,LDL-C levels and LVEF were the risks of in smoking patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.2. The levels of carbon oxygen hemoglobin concentration,HDL-C, blood sugar were not associated with the occurrence of nonvalvular atrial fibrillation in smoking patients.
