Objective: To observe the curative effect of Ginkgo-Biloba extract on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease( COPD), and discuss the probable mechanism. Methods: 60 cases with COPD at acute exacerbation stage were randomly divided into 2 groups(treatment group and control group) in part 1; routine treatment was performed in both groups while intravenous drip of Ginko—Biloba Extract was added to patients in treatment group; After one course of treatment, the D-Dimer,the arterial partial pressure of oxygen(Pa O2),the arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(Pa CO2),the percent of forced expiratory volume in one second( FEV1%),the quotient of forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity( FEV1 /FVC),the whole blood viscosity( BV) and plasma viscosity( PV) have been tested. 30 healthy male spraue-dawley rats were accepeted to this experiment, The model of rat COPD were established by intratracheally injection of lipopolysaccharide and exposure to cigarette smoke. After 28 days, 10 rats were randomly choosed to be the model group, and test the PS and lung function. The rest COPD rat were randomly divided into 2 groups: experimental group and control group. The Ginkgo-Dipyidamolum extract was added to experimental group; The same dose of sodium chloride was added to control group. Testing the FEV0.3%、FEV0.3% /FVC and PS in three month, respectively. Results: 1. The index improvement of treatment group was superior to that of control group( P <0. 05). 2.The index(FEV0.3%、FEV0.3% /FVC and PS)of experimental group was superior to that of control group, and the difference was significance( P <0. 05).Conclusions: 1. Ginko—Biloba Extract have good effect on the prognosis of AECOPD; 2. Ginko—Biloba Extract have a good effect on the prognosis of COPD rat through improve the concentration of PS.
