Objective1.To investigate the distribution characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) Constitution of Harbin city community elderly constipation patients.2.To explore the effects of health education for TCM Constitution identification on improving the physical state and yin deficiency constipation.3.To explore the effects of health education for TCM Constitution identification to improve the quality of life of patients with senile constipation community.To establish the suitable for community elderly constipation of TCM Constitution identification health care model and to provide reference for developing health education for TCM Constitution identification in the community to improve the elderly constipation.MethodsThis was a quasi-experimental study. Select the convenience of a community in Harbin has established health records of 300 patients diagnosed with elderly constipation TCM constitution type determination, and choose the highest proportion biased constitution yin deficiency 85 cases for the study, they were randomly divided into the experiment group and the control group. Constipation elderly control group health education based on the conventional treatment given to the community, the experiment group received health education in Chinese medicine and Distinguishing the basis of conventional treatment given to the community, including dietary guidance, daily life guidance, exercise guidance and nursing acupoint massage. Intervention time is three months. Both groups were evaluated after the intervention of yin deficiency constitution, senile constipation related symptoms and quality of life, and to analyze the effect of the intervention. Data was analyzed by the following statistical methods, such as descriptive statistics using mean, standard deviation, frequency, measurement data using t-test. count data using chi-square test.Results1.The main constitution of traditional Chinese medicine community senile constipation type with yin deficiency, qi deficiency, respectively (28.33%), (26.67%)2.Through the intervention, patients in the experimental group the yin deficiency score changes, with statistical significance(P< 0.05), The patients in the control the yin deficiency score changes no statistical significance (P > 0.05). Comparison of two groups of patients with Yin deficiency score difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).3.Through intervention, two groups of patients with constipation symptoms and curative effect assessment score changes, but after the patients in the intervention group test was significantly higher than that of control group, with statistical significance(P< 0.05).4.Through the intervention, the quality of life in patients of the two groups change, but test group patients physiological discomfort, anxiety degree, satisfaction and the total score with the control group, the score comparison, the difference is significant(P< 0.05), In the social and psychological discomfort, the difference was not statistically significant (P > 0.05)5.Through the intervention, test group of patients with Yin deficiency constitution and effective intervention rate was higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusions1.The main constitution of traditional Chinese medicine community senile constipation type with yin deficiency, qi deficiency.2.Health education for TCM Constitution identification according to subjects’constitution can to some extent alleviate the partial constitution state and improve the community elderly constipation patients of yin deficiency constitution and constipation related disease like have a certain effect.3.Health education for TCM Constitution identification according to subjects’ constitution can to some extent alleviate the partial constitution state and improve the quality of life in patients with constipation in the elderly community.
