Objective:To evaluate the influence factors for the recurrence of meningioma after operation, in order to provide evidence for prediction and prevention of meningioma recurrence in the postoperative period. Methods:The databases including VIP, CNKI, Wanfang, Pubmed and Springlink were searched for the related published papers about the influence factors of meningioma recurrence, and correlated indexes were extracted for Meta-analysis by using RevMan 5.3. After heterogeneity analysis, influence factors (OR with 95%CI) were estimated using fixed or random effect models. Publication bias were assessed by funnel plots and Egger’s test. Sensitivity analyses were used for evaluating the robustness of the results. Results:Eleven articles were included. The pooled OR and its 95%CI of different factors associated with the recurrence of meningioma were: gender (male) 1.30(0.88 to 1.90), age (<40 years) 1.61(1.09 to 2.39), histological type (WHO Ⅱ-Ⅲgrade) 17.18 (6.16 to 47.94), surgical clearage degree (SimpsonⅡ-Ⅴdegree) 6.07(3.86 to 9.56), location (near the major sinus) 3.47 (2.37 to 5.07), size (D>4cm) 5.04(2.14 to 11.87), shape (irregular) 8.02(3.89 to 16.54), edema 3.40 (1.32 to 8.75), dural tail sign 2.71(1.41 to 5.22), and calcification 0.38(0.06 to 2.21).Conclusion: Current results indicate that age(<40years), histological type (WHO Ⅱ-Ⅲ grade), surgical clearage degree (Simpson Ⅱ-Ⅴ degree), location (near the major sinuses), size (D>4cm), shape (irregular), edema, dural tail sign are risk factors associated with meningioma recurrence.
