Objective:To explore the effect of ovary conservation on its function of patients with cervical cancer cured by extensive hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy. Methods 95 patients with cervical cancer from June,2008 to June 2011 were selected as the objective and randomly divided into observation group (49 patients) and control group (46 patients). Patients in observation group were given extensive hysterectomy, pelvic lymphadenectomy and ovarian transplantation, while patients in control group were given extensive hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy only. The curative effect of all patients was analyzed. Results Duration of operation and amount of bleeding of patients in observation group were high than that in control group; two years later, ovarian failure was found in 3 patients from observation group, which accounts for 6.1%, while there were 6 patients who showed the same condition accounting for 13.1%.Conclusion Due to the sensibility of ovary to radiotherapy, though through pelvic cavity, ovarian transplantation can protect the function of ovarian for patients who need radiotherapy cured by extensive hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy.
