Community-based rehabilitation of schizophrenia patients and the preliminary effect evaluation of group psychological intervention in Changning DistrictBackgroundWorldwide prevalence of mental illness showed linear upward trend, our country has reached 16.39‰, and the annual rate of increase to 0.3‰, schizophrenia, represented by the total number of patients with severe mental illness more than 16 million people, forming a huge disease groups.Research purposesThis study describes the community, Changning District, treatment and rehabilitation of mental illness community status quo situation to understand community mental health services, to estimate group psychological intervention in the community rehabilitation treatment of schizophrenia.Research MethodsAdopt self-controlled and parallel-group design to 100 diagnosed and treatment of stable institutions into community day rehabilitation staff and divided into intervention group and control group,50, Two groups of age, gender, educational level, duration and other basic similar.Intervention group give a systematic group psychological intervention, while the families of mental health-related knowledge missionary; routine psychiatric care in the control group, based on the exchange only provide supportive counseling. Using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS), Schizophrenia Quality of Llife Scale (SQLS), Social Disability Screening Schedule (SDSS) the effect of the two groups before and after intervention for evaluation and comparative analysis.ResultsCommunity treatment and rehabilitation of mental illness community status: Changning total population count 626,457 people with serious mental illness 4284, the total prevalence rate of 0.00684. Male population of 310,581, with serious mental illness 2142, male prevalence was 0.0069. Female population of 315,876, with serious mental illness 2142, female prevalence was 0.0068.Two study General:male 44%, female 56%, education 39% junior high, high school and college (56%), undergraduate accounting for 5%. Age of 44.44 (0.91) years, mean duration of 14.78 (0.86) years. Baseline, intervention after one year results of the assessment scale:two Social Disability Screening Schedule (SDSS) score difference was not statistically significant (t=0.161, P=0.367). Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) total raw score difference was statistically significant (t=-3,434, P=0.015), and the intervention group positive symptoms total raw score improvement than the control group. The two groups after intervention in patients with schizophrenia quality of life scale (SQLS) subscale scores significantly, showing improved quality of life in the intervention group than the control group.ConclusionsCommunity rehabilitation of patients with schizophrenia is not optimistic, group psychological intervention will help to improve psychotic symptoms in patients with schizophrenia.
