Research On Health Status Of The Urban Elderly And Demands Of Community Health Service

With the progress of medical technology, human average life expectancy continues to increase, that leading to an ageing population. And the population ageing has a significant effect on our economy and society. How to use of limited health resources more reasonable to satisfy the increasing health service demand of elderly residents has become the urgent problem needs to solve. Community health service is a feasible way to improve the level of the elderly health. It can both to promote health of the elderly, but also to ensure basic medical services, while reducing health care costs by through the comprehensive community health services. Therefore, under the government’s care and promotion the main direction of development of the elderly community health services is forming a pattern of socialization, industrialization and legalization.467 residents which over 60 years old living in Nangang district of Harbin were extracted effectively, based on the systematic sampling method. The investigation contains residents’ social demography character, two-week prevalence, chronic ress prevalence, as well as their community health service demand. Analyze the effect of gender and age on two-week prevalence and chronic illness prevalence by Chi-square test(x2 test). Analyze the influence factors of the elderly residents’ community health service demand with the application multiple linear regression model. Elderly residents own a high rate of two-week prevalence, as well as the chronic illness prevalence. The rate of them was 50.21% and 59.45% respectively. At the same time, elderly residents have high health services demand. The main community health services needs of elderly residents were periodic health examination (57.30%), family health service (44.19%), the prevention and cure of common diseases (36.33%) and follow-up of chronic diseases (29.96%), rehabilitation guidance (23.22%), telephone counseling (17.60%), health education (14.60%). The factors affecting elderly residents of community health service demands are:two weeks prevalence, cultural degree, chronic illnesses, extent of ADL disability, medical expenses payment and age.Through the research of the elderly residents over 60 years old in Nangang district of Harbin. Get to know their community health service demand and the influencing factors. Then give suggestions to solve the existing problems about the elderly community health service. So that the community health service agencies can provide more effective, active, convenient, comprehensive, continuous health services for the elderly.
