Objective:To provide the basis for the scientfically establishment of the health management model and the specificly therapy through the analysis of the correlation between visual quality of life and health of patients with low vision by the investigatio n of the patients in shayibake Urumqi city.Methods:Bilateral low vision patients were recruited in 3400 persons in twelve communities of shayibake with the investigation of low vision and visual quality of life by random sampling method.Then they were investigated with the questionnaire and eye examination.Results:200patients with low vision were identified,and the incidence was 6.47%.The main leading causes were cataract(92 patients,accounting for 46%),the second is ophthalmology(37 patients, accou-nting for 18.5%).There are differences in low vision population health(P<0.05),Hyperte-nsion(37 patients,accounting for 18.5%)are the primary disease in low vision personel, Diabetes(28 patients,accounting for 14%)is the second disease,Cerebral-cardio Vascular Diseases(25 patients,accounting for 12.5%)is the third disease.The indexes of Visual function are statistically difference between different age groups(F=27.435,P=0.000).The indexes of Visual function are statistically difference between different genders(F= 27.435,P=0.000).The indexes of Visual function are statistically difference between diffe-rent level of education(F=27.435,P=0.000).The indexes of Visual function are not statist-ically difference between the han nationality and ethnic minorities(t=1.335,P=0.183).183). Futhermore,it was shown that the value of QOL of patients with low vision were age (F=9.81,P=0.000)and degree of education(F=28.43,P=0.000)with statistic al signficance. But nation(t=0.12,P=0.901) and gende r(t=1.64,P=0.102) with no statistical significance. Conclusion:The value of VF-QOL of patients with low vision was declined significantly with the effection of age and degree of education.While there were no significant differen-ce among the health group and hypertension group,diabetes group,cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases group.
