| Background : Total knee arthroplasty has matured in clinical treatment.The High-flexion rotating platform type knee prosthesis has more advantages in design and physiological structure is more close to the knee joint.Objective:To investigate the preliminary clinical outcome of the TKA with Zimmer LPS-Flex Mobile Bearing system.Methods:A total of 37 patients(42 knees) using Zimmer LPS-Flex Mobile Bearing prostheses in The First Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University from 2012-02 to2014-03 were selected, including 9 males(10 knees) and 28 females(32 knees), aged47-78 years, mean aged 63.7 years,the prosthesis was fixed with bone cement and the patella was not treated with replacement.Clinical results were evaluated preoperatively and postoperatively using HSS scoring system, and we compared the range of motion and monitored the complications.Results:Out of 38 knees, 34 cases had been followed up for 6-28(average15.14)months. The ranges of motion o f knee were average 88.48 degrees preoperatively, and average 124.23 degrees at the latest follow up examination. The mean value of the scores according to HSS was average52.5preoperatively, and average 91.13 at the latest follow up examination,which were increased significantly compared with those before surgery(P<0.01).According to the HSS scoring system to assess curative effect,the results were excellent in 20 cases, good in 16 and fair in 2, and the excellent and good rate w as94.74%. The complications were few. At the latest follow up examination, all cases are not happened Deep Venous Thrombosis(DVT), prosthesis peripheral fracture, patellar complications such as impact.No evidence of periprosthetic osteolysis,translucent lines and loosening on the postoperative X-ray film.No revision surgery for lining prolapse or spin out,osteolysis and prosthesis loosening.Conclusions:The short term effect of Zimmer LPS-Flex Mobile Bearing System knee prosthesis is satisfactory, while long term follow up is needed. |
