Objective: Analysis the findings on MRI imaging of epiphyseal injuries of children’s elbow joint,to explore the application value of MRI in the diagnosis and follow-up of epiphyseal injury in children. Methods: In 36 cases of 5-14 years old of elbow joint trauma clinical suspicion of epiphyseal injury children were examined by MRI, and 17 cases of which after the injury to review within 2 weeks to 6 months to review. The checking Sequence include T1WI、FS-PDWI、T1-TIRM、3D-DESS、T2-MAPPING. Results: After the diagnosis of 36 cases of children with elbow joint trauma in 28 patients the existence of epiphyseal injury, epiphyseal injury of elbow joint in children uses Salter-Harris Typing, 4 cases of Type I(17.9%), 11 cases of type II(46.4%), 8 cases of type III(21.4%), 5 cases of type IV(14.3%), 0 cases of type V(0%), Statistical differences between X-ray and MRI examination results, P=0.025. This study displayed in each sequence of MRI, FS-PDWI and 3D-DESS show epiphyseal injury best; T1-TIRM and FS-PDWI showed that bone marrow edema best; 3D-DESS showed that articular cartilage and bridge formation and epiphyseal plate closure best; T2-MAPPING is the most sensitive to the cartilage injury.Conclusions: The detection rate of MRI is better than X-ray examination of the epiphysis injury, and can correct the error types of epiphyseal injury with X-ray examination. T1 WI, PDWI-FS, T1-TIRM, 3D-DESS, T2-MAPPING series can be very good to observe the change of fracture healing, bone marrow edema absorption, damage of articular cartilage and epiphyseal plate of bridge formation, the closure of the epiphyseal plate. often indicate damage of the adjacent structure, and it is helpful to determine the extent of epiphysis injury. MRI have great application value in the diagnosis and curative effect evaluation of epiphyseal injury in children.
