Standardization Study On The Prescription Name Of Prepared Slices Of Chinese Crude Drugs

Objective: The unstandardization of prescription name of prepared slices of Chinese crude drugs(PSCCD) and the different standards of “prescription payable” of PSCCD in each medical institution are the important issue which restrict academic exchange and the development of Chinese medicine standardization. Impleme ntation measures of prescription name of PSCCD in Henan province was formulated on basis of textbooks of TCM, Chinese Pharmacopoeia, processing standards of Henan Province, coupled with the actual application situation of PSCCD in 14 Chinese medicine hospital of Henan Province, providing basis for management and decision making of the relevant administrative departments.Methods: ① The application status of the names of PSCCD from medical institutions and pharmaceutical market of Henan province was investig ated coupled with textbooks of TCM, Chinese Pharmacopoeia and processing standards of Henan Province. ② The prescription dispensing information from all grades of medical institutions were collected, and the species and reasons of the confusion of PSCCD was analyzed and summarized. ③ The prescription name of PSCCD was argued and determined by Delphi method. ④ The names of PSCCD in each medical institute were revised combined with the actual situation of each hospital according to the revision ways of prescription name of PSCCD. ⑤ Implementation measures of prescription name of PSCCD in Henan province was written to standardize the prescription name of PSCCD.Results: In present study, the current problems of PSCCD were as follows: ① The application of PSCCD names was very confused. Alias name, simplified name, wrong name, and unstandardized name existed in widespread except for the Chinese medicinal name. The names of 49 kinds of PSCCD were inconsistent with the modified prescription name.② Total 35 inconsistencies of PSCCD names were found between textbooks of TCM and Chinese Pharmacopoeia. ③ The name of individual species does not comply with the standards. There were 12 kinds of PSCCD marked with "**slice", the Chinese herbal medicine name should be the nam e of PSCCD. ④ The base sources of PSCCD are many and chaos. One kind of PSCCD usually had several base sources, resulting in the difference of base source and prescription name in different medical institutions. In textbooks of TCM, the Chinese herbal medi cine which had more than two base sources accounted for 31% in 458 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines. In the study, the defining method and application method of prescription name of PSCCD were drawn up, and standardization of prescription name of PSCCD in Henan province was established. This standard had 790 varieties, which increasing 174 varieties on basis of the PSCCD catalog of First Affiliated Hospital of Henan College of TCM.Conclusion: The following conclusions were obtained through the study of li teratures and argument of experts: ① The standardization of prescription name of PSCCD in Henan province had the properties of scientificity, practicality, and representation, which can be proposed as a standard to use widely in Henan Province. ② the standardization of prescription name of PSCCD will make the traditional “prescription payable” as “prescription should be open”, to completely solve the problem of prescription payable of PSCCD.
