Objective This study by using Euclidean Distance Matrix Analysis(EDMA) and Geomagic Wrap 12 to measure the orbits of adults of Chinese Han nationality and analyze their relationship with gender.Methods The experimenters were scanned using Siemens 16 layers spiral CT. 3D skull was extracted and three-dimensional coordinate measurement about the data of the skull was performed using VG Studio 2.2 MAX software. The shape differences of the three-dimensional coordinate data was analyzed using Win EDMA 1.0.1 software and the bootstrap nonparametric test was done on the shape differences.Results The EDMA analysis showed that orbital shapes of male and female adults differed significantly in Liaoning Province, bootstrap nonparametric test T=1.169, P=0.001. Form Difference Matrix(FDM)ratio women than men contributes to the difference in the ratio is less than 0.95 and a part of the greater than 1.05 Less than 0.95 with 33 accounted for 36%(33/91),Greater than 1.05 has two accounted for 2%(2/91).Conclusions Orbital shapes of male and female adults has significant differences in Liaoning Province. The main reason for the differences is that the relative space position of the left orbit and the right orbit is inconsistent. The gender differences in the orbital shape is bigger in the left eye than the right eye.
