| ObjectiveExploring the application of EDMA in the assessment of craniofacialreconstruction.MethodsIn this paper we used the3D craniofacial reconstruction equipmentinvented by Lan Yuwen for120(female60, male60) adults whose native placein Liaoning province to craniofacial reconstruction tests, afterwards, wecompared the reconstructed face with the real face by using EDMA method.ResultsEDMA results showed that there were121(71%) FDM ratios in0.95~1.05,20(12%) ratios less than0.95,30(17%) ratios greater than1.05for femalereconstruction group. For male reconstruction group, there were119(70%)FDM ratios in0.95~1.05,20(12%) ratios less than0.95,32(18%)ratios greaterthan1.05. The ratios of FDM not equal to0.95~1.05were distributed mainly inthe area of five sense organs. Distribution map of the most influential landmarksfor female group, landmarks10ã€11ã€12had the most contribution for thedifference, for male group, landmarks9ã€11had the most contribution. Furtheranalysis showed that landmarks in eyes area have the largest contribution forthe difference.ConclusionsOur study shows that there are differences between the reconstructed face and the real face using this reconstruction method, especially eyes area. Forfemale the accuracy is71%, for male it is70%, the accuracy agree with theresults for subjective assessment, which both female and male accuracy is71%.EDMA is an effective platform for the craniofacial reconstruction assessment, besides, it can be used as an accurate tool for testing where have made bigerrors. |
