Objective:To research the related substance metabolism of anterior and after cingulate cortex in patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).Methods:19 patients that from the first affiliated hospital of xinjiang medical university psychological medical center during August 2010 to December 2011 diagnosed as GAD according to criteria of ICD-10 and 20 healthy volunteers as control were scanned on brain using proton magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (1H-MRS), The levels of Choline (Cho), Creatine (Cr), N-acetyl-aspartate (NAA) in the different parts of cingulate cortex were measured and compared in two groups. At the same time, substance metabolism of anterior and after cingulate cortex event-related HAMA score were measured. Results:The levels of Cho(9.89±2.40),Cr(8.59±1.71)in right anterior cingulate gyrus; the levels of Cho (7.22±1.2),Cr (5.44±1.68), NAA (12.09±2.3) in right anterior White matter, the levels of Cho(5.58±1.35); Cho/Cr(0.60±0.41) in right after cingulate gyrus, the levels of Cho(5.3±1.06); Cho/Cr(0.77±0.17) in left cingulate gyrus and the levels of Cho (6.46±2.37)、Cr (6.52±1.83)、NAA (1.24±2.32) in left after White matter were much higher when compared with that of controls(P<0.05) substance metabolism of anterior and after cingulate cortex was positively correlated to the HAMA score. Conclusion:The levels of chemicals metabolism were increased obviously in leftand right cingulate cortex and white matter.
