Objective: To investigate the effect of using washed RBC of blood salvage on reviving rabbits suffering from hemorrhagic shock on the plateau. Methods: 40 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into four groups(n=10): blood salvage group(Z), allogeneic blood group(K),balanced salt solution(P) and control group(C). All the rabbits were raised in hypobaric oxygen cabin 24 h before experiment. 24 h later, replicate model of hemorrhagic shock by using improved Wiggers, which is the method that bleeding from the femoral artery until the MAP is 40 mmHg.Maintain this MAP for 1h. Then, group Z transfuse the washed RBC of blood salvage and balanced salt solution 1.5times more than the blood loss volume; group K transfuse allogeneic blood which is as much as the blood loss volume and also balanced salt solution 1.5times more than theblood loss volume; group P transfuse balanced salt solution 3times more than the blood loss volume;group C transfuse nothing. Then the HR and MAP were recorded at the moments: before shock(T0), just shock(T1),1h after shock(T2), 1h after reviving(T3),2h after(T4) and 24 h after(T5).Plasma TNF-α 、 IL-6 and SOD were also measured at all those moments(T0-T5). Observe the survival rate for 24 h of each rabbit. Results:Compared with group C, the survival rates for 24 h of the rest three groups increased. The survival rate of group Z was the highest, followed by group K and then group P(P<0.05). Compared with T0, the MAP of group P and C at T3-4 dropped and the HR of all groups rised. Compared with group K, the MAP of group Z rised at T4(P<0.05). Plasma TNF-αand IL-6 began to rise at T1. Compared with group C, plasma TNF-α and IL-6 of group P, K and Z rised to the peak at T3, then gradually declined, but still higher than T0 level. But compared with the group K and P,plasma TNF-α and IL-6 of group Z significantly declined at T4(P<0.05).Plasma SOD of all groups declined at T2. Compared with T2, Plasma SOD of group P, K and Z rised at T3-T5. Compared with other three groups, plasma SOD of group Z was the highest(P<0.05). Conclusions:Using washed RBC of blood salvage on reviving rabbits suffering from hemorrhagic shock on the plateau can reduce the release of TNF-α and IL-6, so as to reduce the damage to tissues and organs by them. It can also increase the vitality of SOD, decrease the damage to the organizationby oxygen free radical. It reduces and delays the occurrence and development of hemorrhagic shock on the plateau.
