Objective:To understand the prevalence of esophageal cancer in Tengzhou City in Shandong province, and to explore the correlation of endoscopic types with pathologic changes and invasion depth of early esophageal cancer, thereby improving the early esophageal cancer targeted biopsy accuracy, what had important value to select esophageal cancer treatment options. Methods:123 esophageal cancer patients in Tengzhou Central People’s Hospital( on the three level of first-class hospital) were collected between November 2008 to November 2013 and were checked by endoscopy and postoperative pathological examination. The clinical medical records of 123 patients were retrospectively analyzed. Results:(1) The prevalence of esophageal cancer in men was higher than women, and the risk increased with the increasing age.(2)The order of predilection sites of esophageal cancer was middle esophagus > upper esophagus > lower segment of esophagus.(3)In the pathological types of esophageal cancer, the most common type was squamous cell carcinoma, and followed by adenocarcinoma. The incidence rate of adenocarcinoma in lower segment adenocarcinoma was significantly higher than that of the upper and middle.(4)There was no significantly difference between early esophageal cancer and advanced esophageal cancer in gender, age, location aspects.(5)The incidence rate of squamous cell carcinoma in mass and stenosis type of esophageal cancer was higher than ulcerated type. Contrary, The incidence rate of adenocarcinoma in ulcerated type was higher than mass and stenosis type.(6)There were correlation between endoscopic types and invasion depth of early esophageal cancer.(7)The diagnosis rate of esophageal cancer was significantly improved with using double chromoendoscopy compared to normal endoscopy. Conclusion:(1) The prevalence of esophageal cancer in Tengzhou City were significantly different in Gender and age.(2)Esophageal carcinoma was showed diversity in endoscopy, and there were correlation of endoscopic types with pathologic changes and invasion depth of early esophageal cancer, thereby improving the early esophageal cancer targeted biopsy accuracy, what had important value to select esophageal cancer treatment options.(3)It was a effective method to improve the diagnosis rate of esophageal cancer with using double chromoendoscopy.
