Objective1.To evaluate the quality of reporting studies which measure up to the standard of randomized controlled trials of TCM intervention measures for bronchiectasis and trying to find out flaws existed in these studies, so as to provide improvement suggestions for researches that are being implemented or to be implemented.2. Meta-analysis the outcome data of qualified studies to evaluate the curative effect of TCM intervention measures of bronchiectasis.MethodsBy searching PUBMED, EMbase, Cochrane library, CNKI database, Wanfang database, VIP database and Chinese biomedical literature database(the time limited from the day database constructed until 2014.11), studies concerning RCT of TCM intervention measures for bronchiectasis have been sifted. Evaluate the quality of the included studies by using bias risk assessment tools provided by the Cochrane collaboration, meta-analysis the outcome data by using REVMAN5.3 software.Results1. Evaluate the risk of bias for all qualified studies. All of the statistics concerning the risk of bias have been evaluated, the low risk of bias accounted for 33%, the high risk of bias accounted for 14%, and 53% risk of bias is yet to be identified. According to the probability distribution of the three identified risk of bias, the total risk of bias of all these 10 study is not identified.Among the 10 studies,1 study involves with 4 low risk of bias,2 less risk of bias and 1 high risk of bias identified,3 studies.of 3 low risk of bias,3 less risk of bias and 1 high risk of bias identified,5 studies of 2 low risk of bias, not 4 risk of bias and 1 high risk of bias identified, 1 studies with 6 less risk of bias and 1 high risk of bias determination. Ultimately only 1 studies is for low risk of bias, the remaining 9 studies were unsure of their risk of bias level.2. Meta-analysis of the outcome dataThe main outcome:7 studies of interventions on TCM with the total efficiency was reported, the meta-analysis results show that:the curative effect of Chinese intervention treatment of bronchiectasis is of significance in statistics science. [OR=6.33, CI%(3.03,13.22), P<0.00001]The secondary outcome:Symptom improvement:3 studies on the changes of symptoms before and after treatment of integral were reported, the meta-analysis results show that:the clinical symptom of TCM intervention can significantly improve the bronchiectasis. [MD=-5.77, CI%(-6.78,-4.77), P<0.00001]3 studies of amount of sputum before and after treatment were reported, the meta-analysis results show that:the doctor of traditional Chinese medicine interventions can significantly reduce the amount of expectoration of patients with bronchiectasis. [MD=-2.65, CI%(-3.09,-2.21), P<0.00001]Safety assessment:3 study do not mention safety assessment, the others reports the adverse reactions and described analysis and treatment for them, but all these studies do not describe a complete plan or countermeasures for safety assessment.ConclusionThe related paper of RCT of TCM intervention on the quality of bronchiectasis is still need to be improved, the outcome indicator of meta-analysis indicated that the Chinese intervention measures is effective in treating bronchiectasis, but since the overall quality of study is relatively low, risk of bias is not identified, the clinical heterogeneity exists, the strength and the extrapolation of this conclusion has limitations.
