| Objective To investigate the situation of maternal care in southern Xinjiang, and explore the main factors affecting the local maternal health care services, and provide a scientific basis for a good maternal care。Methods we selected Shache county and Yecheng county in southern Xinjang as survey sites. In every county, using stratified sampling method, we draw with 15 villages from 5 townships as units and investigated. Women who delivered in 2013 were selected into study to understand their maternal care information. People’s Hospitals, Maternal and Children health Care Hospitals, Township Hospitals and village health stations were collected maternal care providing ability; compared the two counties maternity service quality differences.Results (1) The survey area antenatal examination was 96.73%, Shache, and Yecheng County were 100% and 94.66%; early prenatal care rate of 59.38 percent, Shache County and Yecheng County 56.00% and 61.52%; more than five times the rate of 65.23% prenatal care, Shache County and Yecheng County were 85.78% and 51.97%; hospital delivery rate was 96.04%, Shache County and Yecheng were 99.11%and 94.10%; postpartum visits was 76.94%, Shache County and Yecheng were 94.67% and 65.87%. (2) Univariate analysis showed that maternal and husband education level, family income, previous history of abnormal pregnancy, distance to health care institutions, maternal and child health policy awareness is a major factor in rural maternal health services indexes. Multivariate analysis found that family income, distance to health care institutions, maternal and child health policy awareness is a major factor in maternal health services in rural indexes. (3) Shache County Maternal Health Services index than Yecheng (P <0.05), but lower than the quality of health services Yecheng (P<0.05).Conclusions Maternal indicators of maternal health services in the area are at a low level. To plan area medical care distribution, expansion of health personnel, strengthen health care ability in poor areas will be improve maternal health. |
