Objective Observe to the clinical efficacy and indications of Open reduction, Herbert screw fixation of radial head fractures.Methods Collected 13 cases Mason type-Ⅱ of the radial head fractures by admitted in first Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University From February 2010 to December 2014, to open reduction and internal fixation Herbert screw, including 9 males and 4 females, aged between 17-38 years of age.If in the surgery fractures good, joint replacement and there is no ligament damage, Early functional exercise postoperative. If the merger ligament injury or fixation instability,the functional exercise should be delayed. After 2 weeks,1 month,3 months,6 months later X-rays to understand the fracture healing. Results 13 cases of patients with fractures healed well, In addition to 2 cases shifts more serious fracture of the radial head outside exercise less than satisfactory results, the remaining cases elbow activities without limitation, pronation and supination well, no wound infection, no obvious symptoms of nerve damage. Broberg and Morrey elbow score was 81.5 points.Conclusions Open reduction and fixation within the Herbert screw of the Mason type-Ⅱ radial head fractures have significant effects, low incidence of postoperative complications, satisfactory clinical efficacy. It is an ideal method of radial head fractures.
