Objective: This study applies breathing exercise combining with acupoint massage in patients carried out single valve replacement operation of Cardiac surgery. And this study helps to understand postoperative rehabilitation situation of the patients and investigate the influence on pulmonary function and exercise capacity of the patients. Methods: 66 adult inpatients that were undergoing elective first cardiac single valve replacement were collected in cardiac surgery at He Bei General Hospital from January to December in 2014. These patients were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. 33 patients, with ages ranging from 44 to 67 years, were in the experimental group, consisted of 11 cases with aortic valve replacement, and 22 cases with mitral valve replacement. There were 33 cases in the control group with ages ranging from 36 to 69 years old, including 14 cases with aortic valve replacement, 19 cases with mitral valve replacement. There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of gender, age, ejection fraction, operation types and other aspects. We performed routine treatment and care in the control group while routine treatment plus breathing exercise combining with acupoint massage in the experimental group. The experimental group accepted one-by-one horizontal breathing exercise and acupoint massage training during three days before operation to ten days after operation. Take alveolar-arterial partial pressure of oxygen ratio(a/APO2), oxygenation index(OI), partial pressure of oxygen(Pa O2), partial pressure of carbon dioxide(Pa CO2) on the third day and the seventh day after operation as the evaluation index of pulmonary function status. Take six-minutes walking test on the third day and the seventh day when patients got out of care units as evaluation of exercise capacity. At the same time take the incidence rate of pulmonary complications, ventilator assistance time, ICU stay time, and postoperative hospital stay time to evaluate the rehabilitation effectiveness of the patients with breathing exercise combining with acupoint massage after cardiac single valve replacement operation. All data were analyzed and all statistical tests were performed using SPSS software version 21.0 for Windows.Results:1 There were no statistical significances between two groups in terms of age, gender and operation types(P>0.05). There were no significant differences in ejection fraction, intraoperative cardiopulmonary bypass time, aortic cross-clamping time between two groups(P>0.05).2 Postoperative pulmonary function of experimental group was obviously better than control group, comparison of the two groups showed statistical significance(P<0.05), The postoperative analysis of experimental group blood gas index of a/APO2, OI, Pa O2 on the third day and the seventh day is obviously higher than control group. There is no obvious difference for Pa CO2. The experimental group a/APO2 increased by 0.229±0.011, and the control group for the increase of a/APO2 is 0.215±0.018. The experimental group increased higher than the control group, comparison of the two groups showed statistical significance(P<0.05).The experimental group OI increased by 79.05±13.17, and the control group for the increase OI 78.26±16.72. Although the experimental group increased higher than the control group, the two groups showed no statistical significance(P>0.05).3 Both groups decrease exercise capacity status, but experimental group is obviously better than control group. Comparison of the two groups showed statistical significance(P<0.05), The six minutes walking distance for experimental group on the third day and the seventh day is 381.70±15.32, 436.70±16.91. It is obviously higher than control group. The six minutes walking distance of experimental group is increased by 55.00±3.41, and the six minutes walking distance of control group increased by 40.18±1.59. There is obvious difference(P<0.05).4 There are two atelectasis, four pneumonia, one pleural effusion, in total seven pulmonary complications in experimental group after operation, complications rate is 21.2%. There are three atelectasis, six pneumonia, one pleural effusion, in total ten pulmonary complications in control group after operation, complications rate is 30.3%. The data showed no statistical significance after Chi-square test(P>0.05).5 Ventilator assistance time, ICU stay time, postoperative hospital stay time is 18.34±3.51, 70.21±8.59 and 13.00±2.06 for experimental group. It is obviously shorted than control group. Two groups showed statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:The method of breathing exercise combining with acupoint massage can contribute to the early pulmonary function and early postoperative exercise capacity of the patients performed by cardiac single valve replacement surgery, promote the early recovery of patients.
