| Objective:To compare of hyperlipidemia efficacy and liver function with Catgut embedding and simply taking Atorvastatin Calcium Tablets orally; Comparison of treatment efficacy, serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST) and body mass index(BMI) between these two treatments of hyperlipidemia after the same course of treatment. Methods:Cases were collected and selected from Hospital, Chinese medicine and endocrinology physiotherapy clinic which met the inclusion and exclusion criteria for patients with hyperlipidemia and 60 cases were selected.60 cases were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with catgut embedding and the control group simply took atorvastatin calcium tablets orally. Treatment group acupoint selected Zhongwan, Tianshu(double), Fenglong(double), Zusanli(double), Yinlingquan (double), and was treated by Catgut embedding once every 2 weeks. Total treatment course included four times which lasted 8 weeks. The control group simply took atorvastatin orally 1 piece (20 mg) each time and took it 1 time a day, half an hour after supper with the warm boiling water, which lasted 8 weeks. We recorded values of serum LDL-C, ALT, AST, and BMI before and after treatment, analyzed statistical data, and compared the efficacy and liver function between two groups.Results:1. After treatment, the LDL-C values of treatment group and control group are significantly lower than values that were before treatment which existed a significant difference(P<0.01). The differences of LDL-C values between two groups which were after treatment were insignificant which showed no significant difference(P>0.05).2. After treatment, the LDL-C values of treatment group significantly decreased which is a lot more than control group in borderline high LDL-C patients, which was a significant difference(P<0.05). The LDL-C values of control group decreased more than that of treatment group in high LDL-C patients, which was a significant difference (P<0.05).3. After treatment, BMI values of treatment group were significantly lower than values that were before treatment which revealed a significant difference(P<0.01). BMI have no obvious changes before and after the treatment of control group which demonstrated no significant difference(P>0.05). The BMI values of treatment group than control group significantly decreased, which revealed a significant difference(P<0.01).4. The ALT and AST level of treatment group was not significantly changed before and after treatment which showed no significant difference(P>0.05). The AST level of control group were not significantly changed before and after treatment which showed no significant difference(P>0.05), while the serum ALT level of control group was significantly increased after treatment which was a significant difference(P<0.05). After treatment, the ALT levels of control group was higher than treatment group which suggested a significant difference(P<0.05); the AST levels between these two groups did not show obvious differences which demonstrated no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:The LDL-C values of Catgut embedding therapy are lower than values that were before treatment, and the curative effect is better than that of atorvastatin calcium tablet. Catgut embedding therapy had no significant effect on serum ALT, AST levels. However, catgut embedding therapy is better in improving BMI than taking atorvastatin tablets orally. Further more, the security of catgut embedding therapy is good and worth clinical application. |
