The Effectiveness Of Bio-feedback In Alleviating Postoperative Complications Of Modified PPH

Object: To observe the effectiveness of bio-feedback therapy in the treatment of complications of modified PPH.Method: 80 patients with grade III or grade IV hemorrhoid were randomized to two groups, with the patients in experimental group being treated with bio-feedback therapy and the patients in control group not being treated with bio-feedback therapy. The degree of post-operative pain, hemorrhage, uncomfortablity, difficulty in defecation and some anorectal dynamic parameters were observed.Result: Biofeedback therapy could relax anus sphincter, decrease the rest pressure in anal canal and rectum in the early postoperative period of modified PPH. Also, it could reduce the degree of post-operative pain, uncomfortablity and difficulty in defecation,and the effectiveness of such therapy would be more prominent through the time.But, the therapy was not proved to be effective in terms of reducing the possibility of bleeding in postoperative period of modified PPH.Conclusion: Bio-feedback therapy can be an effective way to alleviate complications of modified PPH.
