Objective : To investigate the effect of PDCA cycle in neonatal family nursing intervention in agricultural and pastoral areas. Methods : 122 cases of normal newborns who were born in the Department of Mongolian and Western Medicine Gynaecology and Obstetrics in Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities as research object, and they were randomly divided into intervention group(62 cases) and control group(60 cases). The intervention group received family nursing intervention by applying PDCA cycle mode; the control group adopted discharged routine nursing instruction. The neonatal growth and development situation, morbidity situation and parents’ mastery situation of nursing knowledge of the two groups were compared. Results:The increase of neonatal body length and body weight in the intervention group were both higher than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant(p < 0.05); the incidence of neonatal respiratory tract infection, eczema, omphalitis, red buttock, diarrhea in the intervention group were all lower than those of control group, and there were significant differences(p < 0.05); the neonatal parents mastery condition of nursing knowledge in the intervention group was better than that of control group, the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion:This study verifies the important value of PDCA cycle mode in neonatal family visit. By using PDCA cycle model to improve neonatal family visit nursing, can promote neonatal growth and development, at the same time, it can raise the newborn parents master level of nursing knowledge, effectively reduce the disease incidence of newborns and promote the healthy growth of newborns.
