OBJECTIVE To explore the clinical pathological characteristics of locally advanced cervical cancer, and evaluate the clinic pathologic factors which may affect prognosis in locally advanced cervical cancer patients. METHODS Patients with locally advanced cervical cancer who admitted in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People’s Hospital between January 2005 to December 2013, were retrospectively analyzed. SPSS20.0 software was used to analyze the data. Life table method was used to evaluate the survival. The related prognostic factors were assessed by Cox regression and Log-Rank test.RESULTS The age of onset ranged from 22 to 78 years old, Median age was 47 years. Squamous cell carcinoma was in the majority, accounting for 83.7%, while adenocarcinoma and adenosquamous carinomagl was 8.5%,4.6% respectively, rare type was 3.2%. The survival rate of 94 locally advanced cervical cancer patients was 83%,79%,73%,70% and 70% for 1 year,2 years,3 years,4 years,5 years, respectively. In Cox regressive analysis, the higher risk prognostic factors were FIGO stage, pathological type and muscular invasion. In univariate survival analysis, pregnancies, FIGO stage, pathological type, muscular invasion, endocervieal involvement and therapy method were closely related to prognosis. The 5-year survival rate of the chemoradiotherapy add surgery group is 82.2%, and the surgery add chemoradiotherapy group is 60.6%, differences between the two groups have not statistical significance (P>0.05).CONCLUSION Patients with cervical carcinoma in IB2 stage and squamous cell carcinoma was in the majority, and surgery is the main treatment method in our data.Gravidity, FIGO stage, pathological type, muscular invasion, endocervieal involvement and therapy method are determining factors affecting the prognosis of patients with locally advanced cervical cancer.
