AIMTo analyze the results through the detection of p53 and β- catenin expression in the gallbladder tissue, and to explore the relationship between p53 and β- catenin during the development of gallbladder carcinoma, and provide theoretical basis for the early diagnosis and the treatment of gallbladder cancer. METHODSThe expression of p53 and β-catenin in 58 cases of gallbladder carcinoma specimens,10 cases of adenomatous polyps and 20 cases of chronic cholecystitis specimens were detected by immunohistochemical method. The results were statistically analyzed by the SPSS. RESULTS1.The p53 and β-catenin expression in gallbladder canacer(62.07%,68.97%) is significantly higher than that in tissues of adenomatous polyp(33.33%,40.00%) and chronic cholecystitis(10.00%5.00%)(P<0.05);2.The correlation analysis confirmed tha there is no remarkable correlation between p53 and β-catenin expression in gallbladder cancer(P>0.05);3.The positive expression rate of p53 and β-catenin in carcinoma of gallbladder was lower in high differentiated than that in mid-low differentiated tissues, lower in early stage(NevinⅠ-Ⅲ) than that in advanced stage(NevinⅣ-Ⅴ),lower in cases with no lymph node metastasis and invasion of the surroundings than that tissues with lymph node metastasis and invasion of the surroundings(P<0.05). CONCLUSION1.p53 presents abnormal accumulation of high expression in the nucleus of gallbladder tissue; β- catenin in higher in the cytoplasm of gallbladder tissue, expression of p53 and β- catenin in gallbladder tissue has no obvious correlation.2.The expression of p53 and β- catenin in gallbladder carcinoma might be related with the degree of tumor differentiation, Nevin staging and metastasis of surrounding tissues, it has a great significance on the idea of gene therapy in the early diagnosis and prognosis judgment of gallbladder cancer.
