Objective To analyze the population genetics features of epileptics in Ningxia ruralareas, and to explore CAMSAP1L1SNP gene distribution in epileptics in this area. Methods This thesis takes use of simple random sampling method, selecting636casesfrom epileptics of Ningxia Rural Epilepsy Treatment Demonstrative Project. We make aretrospective analysis of cases of general information including age, sex, medical history, seizures performance and history of antiepileptic drug, to detect rs2292096and rs6660197locus in CAMSAP1L1SNP gene. Results In prevalence rate, males were significantly higher than females, with1.4:1proportion of male vs. female. The average age of onset was36.0±11.7years old. No seizuretype differences in patients with different gender and age. There were episodes differencesbetween different types of seizures. C, CT, T Genotypes in rs6660197locus ofCAMSAP1L1SNP respectively accounted for64.4%,32.1%and3.5%; A, AG, G genotypesin rs2292096locus respectively accounted for63.3%,31.6%and5.1%. C-type and A-typeallele made up a bigger proportion, while T and G alleles had relatively smaller proportion.Gender, age and family history are not connected with distribution of rs6660197andrs2292096locus in CAMSAP1L1SNP, while rs2292096locus distribution is related toepilepsy types. Conclusion Epilepsy is a common neurological disease with complex pathogenesis.Gender, age and family history are not connected with distribution of rs6660197andrs2292096locus in CAMSAP1L1SNP,while rs2292096locus distribution is related toepilepsy types.
