Objective The patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms wereinvestigated, and the serum concentration of the pituitary hormone and thyroidhormone were measured, through which to explore the relationship between theconcentration of each hormone and the severity of symptom and the volume ofhemorrhage and the prognosis.Methods42cases of ruptured intracranial aneurysms were studied. Thevolume of subarachnoid hemorrhage was evaluated according to Fisher CT grade, the severity of symptom was evaluated according to Hunt and Hess grade, theprognosis was evaluated according to the death or survival. The venous blood ofall these patients were got during1-3days after intracranial aneurysms ruptured(acute phase), which were sent to the hospital nuclear medicine department fortesting.Result①The relationship between the indexes and severity of symptom:the difference of the indexes(ACTH、 TSH、 FSH、 PRL、 GH、 LH、 T3、 FT3)were not significant between Hunt I、 II grade patients and those of the controls,(P>0.05). the difference of the indexes between Hunt III、 IV-V grade patients andthose of the controls was significant,(P<0.05). Each hormone levels rise withincreasing Hunt grade, grade I and II although elevated, but not statisticallysignificant.T4、FT4level did not vary with Hunt grade change, compared with thecontrol group,no significant difference(P>0.05).②The relationship between theindexes and the volume of hemorrhage: the difference of the indexes(ACTH、 TSH、FSH、PRL、GH、LH、T3、FT3) were not significant between Fisher CTI、 II grade patients and those of the controls,(P>0.05). the difference of theindexes between Fisher CT III、 IV grade patients and those of the controls wassignificant,(P<0.05).T4、 FT4level did not vary with Fisher CT grade change, compared with the control group, no significant difference(P>0.05).③Eachindex (ACTH、 TSH、 FSH、 PRL、 GH、 LH) between the death group andsurvival group there was a significant difference (P<0.05).the comparisonbetween various parts of aneurysm, the index had no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusions The hormone in patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysms inacute stage (ACTH、TSH、FSH、PRL、GH、LH、T3、FT3) index associated with thevolume of hemorrhage, the severity, and prognosis. The volume ofhemorrhage more, the severity of symptom serious more, the prognosisworse more, the indexes increased more significantly.T4、 FT4levels change wasnot related with the volume of hemorrhage and the severity of symptom. The changes of the pituitary hormones and T3、 FT3in a certain extent reflectedthe damage degree of the hypothalamic pituitary function, that can be usedto assess the patient’s condition and prognosis.
