Purpose:(1)To investigate the clinical efficacy of oral propranolol in the treatment of proliferativehemangioma;(2)the clinical characteristics during the treatment of proliferative hemangioma with oralpropranolol and the safety and efficacy of oral propranolol.Methods:(1)The subjects in this study were patients suffering from proliferative hemangioma whowere admitted to the Department of Orthopedic Surgery of Ningxia Provincial Hospital belonging toNingxia University from May2011to December2013.There were63subjects,and their mean age was1.4year (ranging from3months to11year).All of the including routine blood test, tests for hepatonephricinfants underwent routine tests, function, heart rate (HR),blood pressure (BP).Infants administered with oralpropranolol, and all test results were in accordance with the requirements. The initial dose was0.5-1.0mg/(kg.d),delivered in3doses.(2)HR and BP were measured before. This assay investigated theclinical characteristics of the pati hemangioma, the clinical characteristics before and after the ents withproliferative treatment with oral propranolol and the clinical characteristics.Results:(1)There were63infants with proliferating hemangioma,lost5.The effective rate of thetreatment of proliferating hemangioma increased with oral propranolol. It reached after8weeks oftreatment, which was remarkably higher than the response rate (P<0.01).(2)Before the treatment with oralpropranolol, patients with proliferating hemangioma were provided with comprehensive health care tomake sure that their heart and lung features were normal.(3)the dose gradually decreased until a completewith drawal.Conclusion:(1) In the treatment of proliferating hemangioma with oral propranolol, the effectiverate was remarkably high, and the side effect was not significant;(2)To elucidate the mechanism for treatingproliferating hemangioma with oral propranolol, further investigation with a larger sample and longerfollow-up time is warranted.
