[Objective]By means of describing the status quo of blood donation during the period of11th five-year plan of Shanghai, analyzes the distribution of blood donors. At the same time, according to the characteristic of different blood donors, formulate reasonable and effective strategy to attract people in Shanghai to donation and raise the quantity of blood collection. Thus, promote the effective and sustainable development of blood donation.[Methods]This study adopts the combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Through the method of literature review, describing the development trend and the status quo of the blood donation in domestic. By means of the questionnaire from20random survey sites of Shanghai blood center and the consultation of10experts, knows about the degree of satisfaction during blood donation and the cognition of blood donation knowledge. Then, it will find out the weak point in the current situation of blood donation. By describing the distribution of blood donors during the1lth five-year plan, analyzing the influence factors of blood donation, promoting the quantity of blood collection in Shanghai.[Results]1. From a survey of awareness of blood donation, who knows about the relevant laws and regulations is not high. The knowledge and understanding of voluntary blood donation is not very comprehensive. During blood donations, donors surveyed are more concerned about the attitude and the professional technique of the staff. Blood donors learn about blood donation through television, radio and other media. They agree that a strict policy missionary is the most effective way to propaganda. With the increase in the number of voluntary blood donation, the higher degree of willingness to voluntary blood donation again.2. The qualitative research showes that60%of respondents believe that the sense of honor and the social awareness has gradually increased. The ideology has especially shifted from "I was asked to donate blood" to "I want to donate blood".70%of respondents have the traditional thinking that blood donation is harmful to the health. The development of blood donation is still suffered from the paid vacation system which cause psychologically unbalance for non-remunerated blood donors. The recruitment methods of blood donors in Shanghai are still need to be rich. The way of social mobilization and propaganda is still need to be diverse. The power of special populations is still need to be strengthened.3.886,744people atternded the blood donation from2006to2010in Shanghai.64.33%are males and35.67%are females. The sex ratio of the donors is1.8:1. The proportion of the population in Shanghai according to the sixth national census is1.06:1which is significantly lower than the donors. Menstrual period limits the frequency of blood donation. The number of female donors had never been able to have a significant improvement because of the fear of needles.38.68%of all the blood donors are living in Shanghai more than six months. According to the sixth census statistics of Shanghai, the resident population accounted for the proportion of39%. The mandatory plan has deeply affected the blood collection of Shanghai.21.46%of all the blood donors are aged20and below.52.99%are aged between20and30. They both reach a total of74.45%. The young people are vulnerable to the public opinion and the new things. It would like to become the mainstream of the blood donation as the youth have the lead in fashion consciousness. Thus, we will see the inevitable progress of social civilization. The officers of state organs always have less time, high pressure or a poor health which reduce the desire to the blood donation to some extent. The numbers of blood donors in the civil service, the military and medical personnel were accounted for only1.07%,1.05%and2.07%of all the donors. It is effectively to raise the amount of blood by advocating this part of the crowd to spearhead the blood donation in social work.4. To increase the number of blood collection, the blood center should popularize the general knowledge of blood and widen the recruitment ways. To increase the number of platelet collection, we should try to improve the environment for blood donation and raise the level of hardware significantly.[Discussion and suggestions]1.
