Objective:Comprehend the epidemiological distribution of the malocclusion among the undergraduates in Shihezi university, To explore the factors that may influenced the Orthodontic treatment demand for orthodontic treatment, help for orthodontist understand the requirement of patients. To provide the scientific basis for oral health planning and health education.Methods:1.According to stratified random sampling collect667students from the first grade to the fourth grade in Shihezi University as cases (male355, female312). Fabricate the ultrahard plaster model, to evaluate the index of treatment complexity, outcome and need(ICON), obtain orthodontic treatment difficulty and objective requisite amount in undergraduates of Shihezi University.2.Through the survey for college students in consciousness of orthodontic treatment questionnaire, to comprehend the perception of their situation on occlusion, understanding degree and opinion or attitude of orthodontic treatment in undergraduate student. statistical analysis of the data, to obtain the related factors that affect the subjective needs in orthodontic treatment.Results:1.Orthodontic treatment need of orthodontic treatment is42.88%,Orthodontic treatment demand of orthodontic treatment is28.64%,the difference was statistically pnificant(p<0.05).2.The orthodontic treatment difficulty for undergraduates in Shihezi University:the proportion of "easily" and "more easily" are71.66%,"moderate difficulty ","difficult" and "very difficult" are28.34%.3.Understanding of the orthodontic treatment: the awareness of orthodontic treatment is higher in the undergraduates of Shihezi University, the rate is75.92%. Among them, medical college students is84.24%, non-medical students is65.71%, the difference was statistically pnificant (p<0.05). The understanding level of medical college students is higher than non-medical college students.4.Recognition of the orthodontic treatment:28.21%of respondents believed that they need orthodontic treatment, male accounted for25.07%, female accounted for32.69%, the difference was statistically pnificant(p<0.05).5.Viewpoint of the orthodontic treatment:62.04%interviewee believe that orthodontic treatment can promote the personal charm, this attitude is the influence factor of subjective requirements(p<0.05).78.29%person hope that their teeth more orderly, this attitude is the influence factor of subjective requirements. Refuse orthodontic treatment due to extraction, non-medical students is53.85%,medical college students is35.49%,the difference was statistically pnificant (p<0.05)Conclusion:1.The orthodontic treatment difficulty for undergraduates of Shihezi University is low, orthodontic treatment need of orthodontic treatment is high, while Orthodontic treatment demand of orthodontic treatment is low.2.Undergraduates in ShiHezi University believe that orthodontic treatment can promote the personal charm, they also generally believe that they want their teeth more orderly, those attitude is the influence factor of subjective requirements.Concerns on costs is the negative influence factor of subjective requirements. To compared with non-medical students, the attitude of orthodontic treatment is more positive perceptions in medical college students.3.The record method of ICON for malocclusion reduces the influence of subjective factors, make the evaluation results more objective. This method is simple and practical and more comparable, It can be as the standard to screening orthodontic requirements in epidemiological investigations, and be popularizd and applicated. |
