ObjectiveTo investigate the related factors associated with pre-hospital delayed time(PDT) in elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). To discuss theeffect of symptomatic cognition, behavioral differences, lifestyle differencesacute myocardial infarction in elderly patients on pre-hospital delay and providea theoretical basis for the elderly patients with acute myocardial infarction wonthe treatment time.MethodsQuestionnaires and Revised-RSQ were made to investigate elderlypatients with acute myocardial infarction in Department of Cardiology of a firstclass hospital in Jinzhou, Liaoning from June2012to April2013. SoftwareSPSS19.0was used for descriptive analysis, T-test, analysis of variance, X2testand Spearman rank correlation analysis statistical methods.ResultsThe average PDT was7.3h and the median PDT2.2h. Elderly femalepatients with acute myocardial infarction are more likely to delay treatment thanmen. The delay time of typical symptoms of acute myocardial infarction inelderly patients is shorter than the patients with atypical symptoms. pre-hospitaldelayed time in patients with previous history of diabetes and heart disease andsmoking was prolonged. The pre-hospital delay time in patients whose painscores were above6was significantly shorter than those whose pain scoreswere no less than6; For the patient with acute myocardial infarction, the higherthe recognition for myocardial infarction is, the less the controlling the symptoms is, the stronger emotional response to symptom is, the shorter pre-hospitaldelay time is.ConclusionElderly people are at high risk of AMI treatment time is affected by manyinternal and external factors that influence the decision of elderly patients, it is acomplex psychological process. Some differences were found among thosepatients with different income, cultural level, occupation medical insurance, living environment and social roles dealing with emergent disease. Thepsychological, emotional factors to influence the decision of health seekingbehavior can not be ignored. All these factors cannot be used to explain thequalitative study only. Therefore, the research on treatment delay of elderpatients should combine quantitative and qualitative study, find out the delaycharacteristics, provide the accurate basis for more effective nursingintervention.
